Daniel is the newest edition to the Texas Family Institute in Abilene, TX. Before joining TFI, he worked at Serenity House as a substance abuse counselor. While there, he earned his Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development and became an LPC-Intern. He moved to Abilene Behavioral Health, a local psychiatric hospital, to gain new knowledge and experience and became a Licensed Professional Counselor, working as both an adult and adolescent Therapist and serving as the Director of the Partial Hospitalization Program. He eventually moved into private practice and became a full-time Therapist at Texas Family Institute in June 2016.
Daniel counsels individuals, couples, families, and groups, from the ages of 10 to 100. He specializes in substance abuse disorders, dual diagnosis, depression, anxiety, anger, teen/adolescent issues, and adult existential issues. He utilizes multiple therapy modalities, but they are tailored specifically to the situation presented by the client and his or her unique needs, personality and ability. He favors Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and firmly believes that by changing your thoughts and beliefs, you can change your life.
